A mother was sʜᴏᴄᴋed to learn she had just given birth to a large ʙᴀʙʏ without any help or painᴋɪʟʟers at home, and a photographer was able to capture that unforgettable moment.

The joy on Natalie Bancroft’s face was palpable as she welcomed her son into the world in Spokane Valley, Washington.
Natalie gave birth naturally to a child at home who weighed 11lb 2oz without “procedures, internal exams, or complications.”

According to photographer Laura Fifield, Natalie’s look shows that neither Natalie’s mother nor her midwives anticipated an 11-pound ʙᴀʙʏ.

Laura got the call early in the morning on a cold, snowy morning, telling her that Natalie was in labor, and she hurriedly packed her gear and went to the house.

When I arrived, she was standing ᴄʟᴏsᴇ to the birth pool, laboring in a candle-lit room, with gentle music playing in the background and aromatherapy diffused throughout.

Natalie decided on a birthing pool because she wanted to give birth at home with her two kids at her side.

Her ʙᴀʙʏ, Simon, was delivered after just a few pushes, and Laura captured the moment in heartfelt pictures.

Being sᴜʀᴘʀɪsᴇd by the gender of the first kid, Laura was overjoyed to learn she had another son.

The moment their child was born, Natalie and her husband fell in love; we could tell he was a little chunker.
After Simon was born, Natalie moved from the birthing pool to the comfort of her bed.

“Simon got off to a wonderful start with nursing! After some time spent nursing and practicing skin-to-skin, it was time to weigh him. Just imagine her sʜᴏᴄᴋ when her midwife remarked, “He’s 11lbs, Natalie! ”

On her Facebook page, Laura shared the images, the story of Natalie and Simon, and the image of Natalie holding her son for the first time.

The best comment came from Jennifer Martin, who claimed that she couldn’t stop staring at the image because it reminded her of the feelings I experienced after giving birth at home.
