The Cessna Aircraft Company has so far supplied more than 43,000 Cessna 172 aircrafts. This makes it the most commonly used and popularly purchased airplane ever. It is regarded as the safest general aviation aircraft currently available.
The Cessna 172 had a significant role in helping to set a world record just two years after its introduction. Twice. A record was set for the length of manned, refueled flight. This essentially refers to the maximum amount of time you can spend in the air before deciding or being forced to descend. Fuel is refueled during flying. There may be more than one pilot, but they must all remain in the aircraft for the duration of the flight.
Cessna has made available at least 18 variants or modified Cessna 172 types. These models have undergone countless small changes and enhancements. A swept-back tail fin, a rudder, and float fittings were later added to the 172A design, which was first created in 1960.
Few A&P mechanics working in general aviation have never worked on one of the approximately 43,000 Cessna 172s that have been built. This plane has unquestionably stood the test of time. And it has brought joy and contentment to hundreds of thousands of individuals throughout the years. The Cessna 172 has probably taught more pilots to use instruments than any other aircrafts.
