Similar to its predecessor, the LTM 1650-8.1 is genetically inclined to maximum performance on eight axles. The finished product is outstanding, it can easily perform hoisting jobs in the 700-tonne class or even higher with ease. Thus, it has a potential lifting capacity of 700 tons.
Depending on its equipment package, the new crane has a power boost of 15 to 50% over the old one. Technology has made this feasible because so much work has been done in this field since the LTM 1500-8.1 was released 20 years ago.
The new crane also has a feature in common with the LTM 1500-8.1 in that it provides two choices for telesᴄᴏᴘing boom length. 54 meters or 80 meters. Customers can rapidly swap between the two lengths by replacing telesᴄᴏᴘic portions 3 to 5, which includes the roller head.
On this crane, by lowering the engine speed, ECOdrive considerably improves the comfort and quietness of the mobile crane. Offroad, quicker gearshifting increases dynamism and traction. The torque produced by the Liebherr diesel engine is effectively utilized on the road to save fuel consumption.
