Massive 580 Ton Bridge Girder Erection Machine Drops Girder Into Place From Above, It is Truly An Engineering Marvel

Humans have long been interested in ways to do tasks quickly and cheaply, particularly when it comes to issues with the capacity of current roads and highways. In Cʜɪɴᴀ, one such type is now in use. The machine is known as the Segmental Bridge Launching Machine – SLJ900/32 bridge girder erection monster machine.

Construction of massive, tall rail viaducts is currently being carried out in Cʜɪɴᴀ using the SLJ900/32. The SLJ900/32, built by the Beijing Wowjoint Machinery Company and created by the Shijiazhuang Railway Design Institute, is 91 meters in length and 7 meters in width and weighs a whopping 580 tonnes.

After first picking up the required beam from its place of origin, the SLJ900/32 will drive to the bridge pillars and lower a pneumatic support structure that effectively secures the machine to the first pillar, allowing it to extend itself out to the second pillar. The beam is then dropped along the path as it moves on to the third. The only way to comprehend how smoothly, effectively, and efficiently it operates is to observe it in action.

The vehicle propels itself along on a set of 64 wheels that are divided into four portions, each with 16 wheels. The SLJ900/32 can move sideways to make it easier to pick up beams because each part can rotate 90 degrees.
