But, the king cobra dreads the mongoose – its arch adversary – the most in the world. Why is that? The mongoose can withstand the ᴘᴏɪsᴏɴᴏᴜs snake’s lethal Bɪᴛᴇ, and in 75% to 80% of encounters with cobras, it emerges victorious.

The Iɴᴅɪᴀn gray mongoose is famous for its penchant for battling and devouring ᴅᴇᴀᴅly snakes like cobras. Their specialized cholinergic receptors make them immune to poison and their rapid reflexes and thick coats are useful in battle.

A video is going viral that depicts a king cobra engaged in a heated ғɪɢʜᴛ with an Iɴᴅɪᴀn gray mongoose. The king cobra and the mongoose appear to have infiltrated each other’s territory and are currently engaged in combat. When the mongoose finally manages to capture the snake in its mouth, the king cobra and mongoose could be seen battling one another and dodging each other’s Bɪᴛᴇs.
